Preparing stairs are a skilled procedure. The steps and hand rails will be varnished in a light cherry wood stain, so it is vital that these areas are fully masked off. Here you see Armando masking the hand rails off, and wrapping the masking paper - completely underneath - away from the stair spindles.
Here we see Ben, caulking the tops of the skirting boards. This procedure simply closes all the gaps and can be painted over once dried.
Before any painting starts, all walls and ceilings are checked. Any noticable imperfections are repaired. Here we see plaster board compound being applied, to cover a stud hole in the wall.
Much of our work is done when all the workman have finished. In this case, the kitchen cabinets have been fitted. Here we have bagged all the kitchen cabinets off, when we have sprayed out the room, the plastic is removed.
Here we have now papered and masked the stair steps. The sides and the inner stair boards will be painted satin white. The stair tops are to be varnished in light, cherry wood satin finish, hence why they are so skillfully prepared.
In this photograph, we see Sal mist coating primer to an ornate coffered ceiling. When this application is complete, it will have had the equivalent of 3 coats from a conventional painter and decorator - The end results are unparrallel.
The same priming process is applied to all walls and woodwork. Here you see Sal mist coating the raised wooden panelling.
90% of doors come onto site pre-primed. Here, Sal is about to apply a top coat to all the internal doors. Notice that all door handles and hinges have been removed, and all doors are now arranged in a production line fashion.
Traditional painting is still very much alive. Here, Sal is cutting out around all the door casings.
